Fellows in Hand Surgery may apply for the position while completing their formal post-graduate orthopaedic/plastic or hand surgery training. Applicants should be aware that preference will be given to those who are applying to come at the completion of their higher surgical training or during the last year of this. Applicants should have completed a training course in microsurgery and preferably an AO fragment fixation course.

To apply, please forward the following documents to Dr Richard Lawson (email: NSLHD-Handsurgery@health.nsw.gov.au):

1. Completed application form

2. Curriculum vitae

3. Three current written references

4. A photograph

Appointments are subject to the candidate undertaking an interview. Interviews are held annually, usually in May, and applications are considered for positions several years in advance. At this stage, applicants will be considered for 2020 onwards. However, from time to time, successful applicants choose not to take up their Fellowship, in which case, a position may become available at short notice.

There are up to four paid positions available at any particular time.  Enquiries regarding remuneration may be directed to the Department Secretary (NSLHD-Handsurgery@health.nsw.gov.au). Unpaid positions with identical clinical responsibilities are available.
