SALLY PAtmAN - Secretary
Sally joined the Royal North Shore Hospital as Department Secretary, Department of Hand Surgery in 2004 after relocating from northern NSW.
The Department Secretary’s tasks are varied and include the supporting of Hand Surgeons, Fellows and Registrars; screening and sorting mail, documents, and telephone calls; scheduling patient appointments; dealing with patient enquiries; receiving and following up on Fellowship enquiries and preparation of rosters and theatre lists.
BELINDA SMITH - RESEARCH OFFICER
Belinda received her Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Science) degree from the University of Canberra. After working in multidisciplinary pathology roles at Dubbo Base Hospital and Cape Hawke Private Hospital, Belinda relocated to London and undertook specialist studies in Clinical Chemistry whilst working as a senior scientist in the National Health Service.
Belinda joined the RNSH Department of Hand Surgery & Peripheral Nerve Surgery as the Research Officer in 2006, assisting with the coordination of research projects for the Consultants, Fellows and Registrars across a wide range of topics. She organises the administration aspects of ethics applications and publication processes, along with the scientific and clinical methodology of research and analysis of results.
Belinda also acts as the Administrative Secretary for the International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (IFSSH), a Federation of 59 hand surgery societies from 57 countries.
